The Nobel Prize recipients are being announced this week, shining a spotlight on some of the world’s most prominent thinkers and innovators. The awards, most of which date back to 1901, are intended to go to those who “have conferred the greatest benefit to humankind,” founder Alfred Nobel wrote in his will.
