During the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of the mining industry in Punjab and stressed the need for sustainable mining practices. He urged the PMDC to prioritize environmental concerns and work towards minimizing the impact of mining activities on the surrounding communities.

The newly inaugurated mines will extract minerals such as sand, gravel, and boulders, which are essential for the construction industry. The PMDC has already auctioned the mining rights for these deposits to private contractors, who will be responsible for the extraction and transportation of the minerals.

The Chief Minister also emphasized the need for transparency in the allocation of mining contracts and urged the PMDC to ensure that the contractors comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

The opening of these mines is expected to provide a significant boost to the state’s economy and generate much-needed revenue for the government. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the mining sector in Punjab will continue to thrive and contribute to the state’s overall development.
